2 Chainz Voices Concern for Younger Rappers: 'It’s Hard for Them to Listen'
2 Chainz stopped by *Baby, This Is Keke Palmer* this week and got starkly real about the state of hip-hop's youth culture. As Complex reports, the Atlanta veteran opened up about how tricky it is to pass wisdom down to rising male artists who feel untouchable once money touches their hands. "Honestly, it's harder now because once they get the money or trying to get the money, it's like it's hard for them to listen," he told Palmer. Nobody wants a sermon, so he tries to lead by example, but the recurring fixation on violence and death weighs on him heavy. Chainz, who unpacked plenty of his own survival rules in his March memoir *The Voice In My Head Is God*, pointed to how street politics got warped for an online audience. Hustling used to move in silence. Now, artists feel forced to flash tools and cash on camera so they aren't labeled soft, throwing away millions on the table for real prison bids. He linked the recklessness to a void of real father figures and a fatalistic headspace where younger artists genuinely do not picture themselves making it past their 30s. Hearing an OG lay it out that plainly hits different. Watch the conversation below.
