Doechii Revives “Swamp Sessions” With New Loosie “Bombs”

By GQ·October 15, 2026·1 min read

Doechii is back in her bag, bringing back her “Swamp Sessions” series with a fresh loosie titled “Bombs” and a self-directed video to match. The YouTube freestyle run originally served as the launching pad for her Grammy-winning 2024 mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, spawning fan favorites like “Nissan Altima” and “Catfish.” Now, after a relatively quiet stretch following high-profile moves like her Lady Gaga team-up “Runway,” she is stepping back up to the mic on her own terms. The drop arrived alongside an unfiltered handwritten letter to fans posted to her Instagram story and viewed by Pitchfork. In the note, she broke down her headspace, writing that she spent the last few years as a student of hip-hop and now feels ready to stretch it across genres. “A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see Black Womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop,” she wrote, declaring her devotion to becoming the dark-skinned star she needed to see as a kid before closing it out straight: “I don’t have sh*t else to say hoe.” She meant every word.
