Erykah Badu & The Alchemist Share New "Witch Doctor" Video

Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are actually dropping a joint album, and the rollout just got weird in the best way. According to Hip Hop Heads, the duo just delivered the self-directed visual for "Witch Doctor," a six-and-a-half-minute trip of pure soul. The Alchemist lays down an organic, dusty drum loop while DJ Quik and Thundercat pull up to assist on the live instrumentation. Badu floats over the top with her signature cosmic vocals, keeping the momentum going from their 2025 single "Next To You." Badu handled everything behind the camera too, serving as director, stylist, and executive producer for the video. The 16-song album, currently listed on DSPs with the placeholder *Sorry, we don’t have an album title yet ...*, represents 18 months of recording sessions split between Dallas and Los Angeles. It also marks Badu's first studio album since 2010's *New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)*, which means we are witnessing a genuine moment. They've already road-tested these tracks at intimate, phone-free shows, and they're taking the act on tour this September to cities like Toronto, Denver, and San Diego.
