Empire Founder Ghazi Launches Independent B2B Distribution Platform Supply Chain
Ghazi spent the last decade-plus turning Empire into an undisputed powerhouse by proving independent distribution could compete directly with major labels on their own turf. Now, the executive is packaging that underlying framework into an entirely new enterprise. According to Variety, Ghazi has officially launched Supply Chain, a standalone B2B cloud-based distribution firm built for the global music market. The new venture targets the industry's backstage plumbing, providing technology, operations, digital distribution, and commercial connectivity to outside businesses. Alongside the rollout, Supply Chain confirmed two senior leadership appointments, tapping Craig May as Senior Vice President. Most software outfits pitching distribution tools to independent labels hit a wall because tech executives rarely understand how records actually break in the streets. Ghazi obviously does. Empire succeeded because it paired smooth digital distribution with ground-level A&R instincts across hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeats. Selling that operational engine to other players is a ruthless, calculated pivot that could reshape how modern indie operations handle scale. Additional operational rollout details and enterprise onboarding timelines are expected to emerge in the coming months.
