J. Cole knows some of his sharpest pen work on The Fall-Off flew right past listeners, and for the most part, he’s at peace with it. Sitting down on The No Bars Off Show, the Carolina MC dug into a few specific schemes from the record that never got their proper recognition from fans. Breaking down a standout line on "WHO TF IZ U," Cole detailed how he fused an homage to Eminem with classic literature: "I’m the Carolina 910 Shakespeare / All that cap you let them rap is over with," intentionally tying the bar to Juliet Capulet. While Cole admitted in the interview that he knows lines like "cap you let" mean "nobody’s gonna give a f*ck outside of me and get it," he noted that a missed connection on "Run A Train" is the only one that actually bothered him.
