JayDon Keeps His Run Alive With New Single "SUMMER NIGHTS"

JayDon is keeping his foot on the gas. Fresh off his BET Best New Artist nomination and the buzz from his July single "FLAMED UP," the Los Angeles native has returned with a brand new single and video called "SUMMER NIGHTS." The release was first spotted by Ahmed over at @big_business_ on X, giving R&B fans another preview of what the 18-year-old vocalist has in store before his debut mixtape, Me My Songs & I, drops on August 28 via mega/gamma. If you still only know him as the voice of Young Simba or from his acting days as JD McCrary, it is time to get familiar with his music. JayDon has been building a serious run, especially after taking his breakout single "Lullaby" to the top of the charts overseas and securing a major remix with Usher. On "SUMMER NIGHTS," he leans into classic vocal arrangements reminiscent of early-2000s radio. The crisp drums bounce with a modern knock while his falsetto glides over a warm bassline that feels tailor-made for a midnight drive. The kid really has the vocals to back up the hype.
