Kehlani Sidelines East Coast Tour Dates Following Hospitalization
Kehlani is pressing pause on the current leg of the Kehlani World Tour following an unexpected medical emergency. According to reporting from Billboard, the Grammy-winning singer announced Wednesday (Aug. 26) on social media that she was hospitalized for a severe illness that left her unable to swallow, forcing the cancellation of upcoming tour stops in Camden, New Jersey, and Maryland/DC. "After two off days feeling completely normal.. ive been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain," Kehlani shared online. "I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows. i’m so sorry Camden & DC. my team is working on a solution." Pulling dates mid-run is always a brutal financial and logistical headache for both the crew and the fans who booked travel, but pushing through throat trauma is how singers permanently wreck their instruments. Calling it early was the only sensible business decision. Per the announcement, the tour is scheduled to resume on Aug. 29. Ticketholders for the Camden and DC dates should monitor their local point of purchase for forthcoming updates on rescheduled dates or refunds.
