Built alongside executive co-producer Luka Kloser out in Los Angeles, the record leans deep into moody synth chords and late-night longing, carrying the same atmospheric texture heard on earlier singles like "Dirty Shoes." Lyrically, the track wrestles with unrequited love and the sting of dreams that refuse to match reality. Regier kept the arrangement stripped back to let that frustration breathe, opting to keep the unedited vocal from the very first take on the hook to preserve the raw emotion.
