When Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor finally hit the shelves via 1st & 15th and Atlantic, he didn't just capitalize on that momentum. He built a whole new lane for Chi-Town hip-hop. Executive produced by Jay-Z, Chill, and Lupe himself, the debut was an anomaly. We were deep in the mid-2000s snap era, yet here was a rapper spitting sociopolitical street gospel.
