Live Nation Adds Eight Stadium Dates to Usher and Chris Brown’s R&B Tour
Live Nation is laughing all the way to the bank. On Monday, August 17, the promotional giant announced an eight-show extension for Usher and Chris Brown’s massive stadium run, officially titled The R&B Tour. According to reporting from Billboard, the demand for this co-headlining trek has been relentless. This is about exhausting markets that are already saturated. The tour is spinning back to my home turf at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on October 15 for a third night. It is also adding a third night in Miami on December 6, a fourth in Atlanta on November 5, and a staggering fifth show in Los Angeles on November 16. New stops are also scheduled for Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. "The love has been unreal, so we’re keeping it going and adding MORE DATES," Usher shared on Instagram. Let's be clear: co-headlining stadium tours of this scale are a logistical nightmare. Relying on two legacy acts who peaked creatively years ago feels like a safe, nostalgic cash grab. But the market dictates the play. Right now, R&B nostalgia is the most recession-proof asset in live music. If fans are willing to buy out NFL stadiums five times over in Los Angeles, Live Nation would be foolish not to milk it. Fans can purchase tickets for the newly added dates now via Live Nation.
