WMG / Blavatnik Social Justice Fund Commits Nearly $6M To 17 Grantees In 2026 Slate

The Warner Music Group / Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund has named its first docket of 2026 grantees, deploying nearly $6 million across 17 organizations in the United States and the United Kingdom. According to reporting from Music Business Worldwide, this latest round pushes the $100 million fund past $52 million in total capital committed since its launch in June 2020. Most corporate racial justice funds announced during that summer quietly dried up once the public relations cycle moved on. Warner actually cutting checks six years later is the bare minimum standard the rest of the industry abandoned. Eight of the 17 recipients are music-focused initiatives. Four newcomers join the roster: the Atlanta Music Project, which delivers tuition-free music training in under-resourced neighborhoods; Brooklyn Youth Sports Club’s VOICES program; UK creative development outfit Generator; and Classical Pride. Returning music recipients include Girls Make Beats, Black Lives in Music, the Jazz Power Initiative, and The Hip Hop Museum. The non-music allocations target systemic reform. The fund is backing Freedom Reads to establish 75 prison libraries over the next five years, alongside grant renewals for The Marshall Project, Civil Rights Corps, and the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute. Additional grants were awarded to the Global Black Economic Forum, African Leadership Academy, SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW!, StopWatch, and JULIAN.
