Wicked Reacts To Stephen A. Smith's NABJ "Thumbs Down" Award
Stephen A. Smith has built an empire on having the loudest voice in the room, but the National Association of Black Journalists just handed him an award he definitely won't be putting on his shelf. During their annual convention in Atlanta, the organization hit the ESPN host with their "Thumbs Down" award, calling out a recurring public pattern of disparaging commentary directed at prominent Black women. Smith immediately went on the defensive, calling the award a personal hit job and promising a massive clapback of his own. The drama has the culture talking, and Wicked recently pulled up to B High Atl to weigh in on the mess. In a new interview on the platform, Wicked reacts to the NABJ's public rebuke and tackles the heavy question of whether Stephen A. is actually unfair to Black people. It's a direct look at media power, accountability, and what happens when the community decides your platform is doing more harm than good. You can only talk down on folks for so long before they talk back. Check it out below.
