Privacy Policy

Wooster Mag (“Wooster”, “we”, “us”) publishes music and culture coverage at woostermag.com and on our social accounts. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we keep your email address and subscription status so we can send the newsletter.
  • Accounts. If you sign in (by email link or with Google), we keep your email address, the display name and avatar your sign-in provider shares, and what you do with the account, such as comments, reports and the artists you follow.
  • Site analytics. We measure visits in aggregate (pages viewed, referring sites, country and device type) using Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or build a profile of you across sites.
  • Cookies. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember preview access. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Our social media accounts

We connect to the official APIs of platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook only for Wooster’s own accounts. We read our own follower counts and the view, like, comment and share totals of the videos and posts we publish, to learn which content works. We do not collect information about individual viewers or other users through these APIs, and we do not sell or share this data.

How we use information

  • To send the newsletter and run accounts, comments and follows.
  • To moderate comments and keep the community safe.
  • To understand which stories and videos people find valuable and improve our coverage.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

We rely on service providers to run the site: Ghost (publishing and newsletter), Supabase (accounts and community data), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Railway (our backend) and Google (sign-in, if you choose it). They process information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter and account information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your account. Analytics are kept in aggregate.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any email.
  • Ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@woostermag.com.
  • Disconnect Google sign-in at any time from your Google account settings.

Children

Wooster is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact
